San Antonio on a Rainy Day
I found another drawing tucked away in my great-grand-uncle's 1918 Proverbs calendar (which by the way is really sour grapes. ie, "Set not too high the value of your own abilities," "Two of a trade seldom agree," "Poverty is the mother of all arts," "The rotten apple injures its companion," and so many more.). This is also by Cressley (photo: left), a man I could have met, as I met his sister, my great-grandmother Manna (Lucille; curiously, my other great-grandmother on that side was Lulu) before she passed. Cressley was lost before his 20th year in World War I, and I like to think he was sketching over there, and somewhere (maybe France) someone else has more of his delightful little sketches. My two younger brothers (born 3 years apart the same day) celebrate their birthday tomorrow, and I cannot imagine life without them. And they can both draw (they share a birthday with da Vinci as well)! One of these days I will post their childhood drawings. :)

syncro-vox and cartoon history
I didn't think that Clutch Cargo was the cartoon with the Eskimo that I remembered from my childhood. It was also in Pulp Fiction, briefly. But it is Clutch Cargo. I think "they" are trying to submerge the part of the series that involves this character, as it is not politically correct. But it is so silly. I think in all fairness that the white people are silly too. Anyway I am very happy to find this and share it. I know it will not fail to enchant all who clap eyes on it.

pea soup*
ok, so stuffwhitepeoplelike is funny to a certain extent but it is mean spirited and unreasonable. it would seem to be saying the old high school thing- 'nothing is cool.' okay, good. but if these whitepeople are trying to change the world, be it supporting independent movies, 'consciousness' rap, wondering how to help poor people, getting healthcare for everyone, encouraging cultural exchange, removing poisons from the soil, etc.; by the way they spend their money or vote or otherwise, what is your problem with them? why deride them? why should they care, anyway? because you are going to make them self-conscious and they won't feel clever or unique etc. etc.? you will foil their plans!? and what is the racial identity of the blogger anyway, and why the conspiracy to 'get white people to like you'? why would you want that?
(ps: whitepeoplestufflike, you forgot BLOGS. white people love blogging, they think everyone wants to spend all of their free time hearing every clever, ironic, sarcastic, snarky thought every other white person thinks, especially if it has been cannibalized from another media outlet like The New York Times. Respond, whitepeople, respond! Oh, you amuse me! How clever! I am being sarcastic too! HEE HEE WHAT FUN!!!)
now, a brilliant idea! Brought to you by the Necronomicon.
THE CONJURATION OF THE MOUNTAINS OF MASHU
(A spell to cause consternation in the Enemy (annoying blogger), and confuse his thoughts. It is also a binding, that the evil sorcerer may not see his spells work their desired ends, but melt away like honey or wax. These mountains are called SHADU, and are the hiding places of the Serpents of KUR. A spell to cause ultimate destruction.)
SHADU YU LIKTUMKUNUSHI
SHADU YU LIKLAKUNUSHI
SHADU YU LINI YIX KUNUSHI
SHADU YU KI YIXSI KUNUSHI
SHADU YU LITE KUNUSHI
SHADU YU LINI KUNUSHI
SHADU YU LINIR KUNUSHI
SHADU YU LIKATTIN KUNUSHI
SHADU YU DANNU ELIKUNU LIMQUT
INA ZUMRI YA LU YU TAPPARRASAMA!
Let's see if this works! It won't. But eventually people will simply lose interest. People don't look at my blog. At all. I don't care. Good night.
